Program Coordinator – The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps”In The Mix is a homerun! Whatever stage of development you and your staff are at, Michael has something to share with your program. Michael McIntosh is one of the leading experts on so many topics. I learned a lot and plan on using ‘In the Mix” with my many music education students.”

“We bought the DVD Dynamic Marching and Movement Vol. 1 and were able to unify terms and break down each of the movements in isolation. My students had an idea about many of the things they needed to do to be a successful marcher but by having a good model to watch and terms to use, we grew leaps and bounds.”
“Dynamic Marching is providing a much needed service. I have recommended several of my top students to serve on dm’s instructional team. If your band is trying to get to that next level……contact Dynamic Marching!”

D’Addario and Myself are very excited to be a part of the new Dynamic Marching Video “In the Mix”. The topics covered are highly valuable to any educator looking to improve, modernize, or simply validate their own rehearsal techniques. The technology section, featuring the same Planet Waves products Mr. McIntosh has been using for years is an exciting opportunity for teachers to learn the most up-to-the-minute techniques for applying technology to any marching ensemble. This is surely to be a standard resource for all educators involved or interested in the marching arts!

“Innovative Percussion is excited to have the opportunity to work in partnership with Dynamic Marching on the “In the Mix” DVD project featuring Innovative Percussion signature artist Mike McIntosh. With Mike’s vast experience in the marching arts, this project is going to be a must have resource guide for all band and percussion directors.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Dynamic Marching during the 2008 marching season. It was incredible to see how well my students were marching and moving after Jeff came and worked with them at our first camp. We kept working on and refining the skills we learned at that first camp throughout our marching season. I felt comfortable calling Dynamic Marching if I had any visual questions. By the end of the season, my band had its highest placing in school history at the CBA Marching Band State Championships and we finished 3rd in individual visual. I don’t believe we could have achieved this level of success without the great training Jeff and Dynamic Marching provided to my students. I look forward to working with Dynamic Marching for many years to come. If you want to drastically improve how your band moves, you need to utilize this amazing resource.”

Blue Springs, MO”I have especially appreciated your “Dynamic” DVD series (both visual and musical). I’m the director of a small town band in NW Iowa where we’re able to afford “packaged” shows through Marching Show Concepts.”

Jeff Young’s Dynamic Marching & Movement DVDs should be in every high school Music Department’s Library. Every director, as well as their students, should have these available to study and learn today’s current styles and techniques. One of the great pluses in these DVDs for high school students is that the demonstrations are all done by average high school students demonstrating proper work ethic, yet with some flaws as they are developing their skills. The DVDs are a must for all university Marching Band Techniques methods class. Students should not only view these DVDs, but be required to take detailed notes to establish their own instructional skills. The instruction presented was a tremendous eye opener for students in my class who did not understand the fine detail required to acquire excellence in student’s marching band experience.

I can’t imagine trying to create a successful marching band program without the assistance of Jeff Young. Unfortunately, some directors had to “get beat” before they believed what a difference Jeff and his consultants can make. The Dynamic Marching approach is the most physiological and educational approach to marching fundamentals I’ve ever experienced. While it does give bands a competitive edge, the philosophy behind the program is about being the best you can be. If that wins…Great…but more than anything Dynamic Marching gives students a means to success. Jeff and his consultants teach the fundamentals of motion using the students vernacular as well as physiological terms they hear in science class. All of a sudden marching fundamentals are cool and not just about “rolling the feet”. I have thirty-four years of performance, teaching and design experience. Only in the past three years have I been able to help marching bands create a “total package”. While the Dynamic Marching concept may seem advanced, I’ve found if you extract what you’re capable of doing the first year the students get comfortable with the “new marching style”. Then the following year it’s possible to implement the broader scope of the Dynamic Marching methods. By the third and fourth year the upper classmen can’t believe they approached the fundamentals of motion any other way.

“After buying the DVD’s and gaining as much as we could from them, we asked Jeff to come work with our students directly. It was a wonderful experience for the students and staff. The students got the one on one attention from Jeff and the staff was given exercises for rehearsals that work the fundamentals needed in a short time. I would highly recommend either or both for your marching program. This will help you take them to the next level.”
